7th Grade Texas History Practice Test

Stephen F. Austin was the representative chosen to travel to Mexico City and present reforms to the Mexican government. He went in 1833 to explain Texan settlers’ grievances and to seek changes like restoring the 1824 Constitution and granting Texans more local autonomy. He met with the Mexican leader, Antonio López de Santa Anna, to push for these reforms, hoping to ease tensions between Texas and Mexico. The other names are important figures in Texas history, but they did not serve as the envoy to Mexico City for this purpose.
